Vegas Warriors of the Light

Landing safely in my home in Ottawa after quite a guided journey. (You can read my last two blogs about my predestined presence in Las Vegas at the time and location of the shootings one week ago). 

Now I see how the remainder of our trip was also predestined - to heal from the experience and receive the energy to move forward. Visiting energy centres in Flagstaff, the Winslow Meteor
Crater, the Petrified Forest, Santa Fe (a Lightworkers heaven on Earth), the Unesco World Heritage site of the Taos Pueblo and travelling over the mountains on the Santa Fe Trail was all planned before being in Las Vegas. One of the Universal Laws is the Law of Balance - and this trip was an experience of extreme giving AND extreme receiving. Very 5th Dimensional indeed!

Keeping in our Heart Centre at all times is a critical lesson I learned through this entire experience. About six weeks before leaving for Vegas, I became very anxious - yet could not find the source/reason for it, nor permanently shift it. Ten days before the trip, my digestion got involved, and could not rebalance. Throughout this six week period, I deeply sensed that all would be well and I needed to double my efforts to focus on living in my heart centre and being responsive to all life challenges (rather than reactive).

When experiencing the events in Las Vegas and knowing I was there to hold the Light and provide healing to others, then my anxiety dissipated - even while being in the largest pool of fear in which I ever swam. My intuition was in overdrive for those six weeks prior to Vegas and staying in my Heart Centre (responsivity and love) was the key. 

Thank you Warriors of the Light for all the sending of energy you provided for those who were impacted by the shootings. While visiting each of the sites listed above, energy was sent to you to strengthen your resolve as a Warrior of the Light.

Healing for Las Vegas 

We've been in Las Vegas 6 times over the past 5 years. Not the usual place for a northern Lightworker to visit, but each time it has been an energetically profound experience. I 'was given' much of the  energy and information here for my Reiki and Crystals book and worked with healing the Earth during each visit. So many surreal experiences here, including being face to face with Sheryl Crow as she sang at an event, our eyes often meeting in connection. As I write this, her song 'Leaving Las Vegas' is  playing in my head. 

Thank you all who have been sending energy since the shootings earlier this week. Our hotel has been right at the site, so your sendings have had great healing impact and has steadied me for all the work I've been guided to do this week. (If you have not read my previous blogpost, it was written the morning after the shootings). 

Physically, I am ready to leave here yet know that the healing work will continue. Here are three areas to focus on for your sending in the next days and weeks. (You'll be hearing more from me about group sendings of energy that we will be doing. If you do not receive my notices, go to the contacts page of www. ReikiOttawa.com to sign up). You can help this way:

1)Work on yourself and support other Lightworkers to clear fear and keep vibrations high. Any Grounding type exercises are great. Allow the energy of Rose Quartz to enter your heart centre (the quantum field of Rose Quartz is attached to this blog and is healing you as you read this).

2)Send energy to those who died here to assist with their transitioning. (I began that work here with 2 last evening). 

3) First responders need support and healing. Yesterday, emergency service workers and police officers walked up and spoke with me wherever I went. We heal so much through our eye contact with others, and I felt Spirit working through me that way. 

In meditation, ask Spirit to connect you with one person here who needs assistance. Focus on sending to that one person or spirit, and you will be helping hundreds.

With Spirit at the Las Vegas Shooting

The day of the shooting was the travel day to Las Vegas for the  6th conference that my husband attended there. I am writing this the next afternoon, to share with you. 

Those who know me know that I tap into the 5th dimensional energy here in Las Vegas - the desert is quite magical and I visit with the giant quartz crystal ball ...as well as walk miles. The energy below all of the craziness here is quite profound - I don't belief that this 'sin city' was built here by chance.  We arrived late morning and spent the day with the energy at Red Rocks, returning to our room at the Luxor hotel in the early evening. With both of us being tired, we were in bed by nine and while my husband snored, I could hear the sirens getting louder outside.

My curiosity got the best of me and I checked the news, finding of the horror that was unfolding outside, right across the street from our hotel, the pyramid shaped Luxor. After calming myself down, I dropped into my heart centre and began sending energy and praying intensely. Soon a loudspeaker sounded in our room - "stay in your room and lock the door, there is an active shooter." My internal battle began, between panic and neutral, heart centred sending. Through the night hours we were told to remain in our room as the lockdown continued.

We were meant to be at the Mandalay Bay hotel, but chose the Luxor next door as the day I  booked our rooms there was a fabulous sale that was one-third of the normal price. I now do not believe that this was by chance.

Awake at dawn, we made our way down to the lobby. Staggering around were the injured, those in shock and weeping. Many young girls wearing summer dresses and cowboy boots wrapped in blankets and in groups of five or six, wandered aimlessly in shock. 

Nearly every waking moment since the shooting began, I prayed and sent Reiki and energy from the Universe. When seeing all the walking emotionally wounded, I felt like this had not been enough. So I tried to ask people directly if they wanted help, and received strange looks in return. As I am a trained crisis worker from my life as a social worker, I tried to find a centre to volunteer. When faced with and feeling the energy around me, I doubted that my spiritual healing intervention was enough. I sooned realized that I was probably the only one there who could do it. 

So I surrounded people with love and gold and white light. Those in pain, I sent energy, symbols, prayers and grace. Twice today, I was called on by Spirit to energetically assist two people who passed over from their wounds - feeling like I was right in the room with them. Doing this all by distance. 

We walked miles today up and down the Strip like so many thousands of others. Very surreal here - none of the usual Vegas noises. A hushed silence with everyone jumping out of their skin with any loud noise. The shock was and is palpable. 

After my 'crisis of faith' in the early morning, I was guided to know that my best way to be of service was to be present and still. Wherever I was, I stayed in my heart centre asking for Spirit to guide to me those  I could best assist. Through the day today, I focused on presence and met the most amazing, powerful, courageous people - all having been at the event, running and crawling in terror, and seeing the wounds of those grazed by bullets. I asked Spirit to work through me as I listened. My husband knew what I was doing. I felt that as I looked at people, healing flowed and with intention surrounded them with the energy and symbols that appeared. 

As I write this after a long, hot bath and a gin and tonic, I feel so blessed to be placed here, in service and safe. 

SEND SEND SEND energy and love, asking the Angels to be present here and surrounding all impacted by this event.

Expanding Intuition - Part 1


Intuitive knowing can be that ‘uh-oh’ feeling that comes up when you meet someone for the first time. It is that flash of insight you have about how to deal with a particular situation. It is that little voice that whispers in your ear saying you need a second opinion. It can be that nagging feeling in your gut that something is not right with the current situation. It is that ‘lightbulb’ moment that you have when dealing with a challenge, and desiring to find a solution. No matter how hard you try to deny or rationalize your inner knowing, it keeps coming back into your awareness.

Intuition is experienced as the inner awareness of
something that you are not able to talk yourself out of.

Intuition is the manifestation of your ‘higher self’ at work. Your higher self is the optimal, inner you. It is the best of all you have ever been, of who you are now and the best of your limitless potential. Your higher self always knows what is for your ‘highest good’ physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. People receive information from their intuition in many ways (you will learn more about this). Consider your ‘gut instinct’ or intuition your higher self’s way of speaking with you as clearly as it can. Your job is to focus on opening the door to noticing, hearing, feeling and receiving this information. Whether you use this information or not, it is always your choice. The truth is that learning from, listening to and moving to action with what your intuition tells you, keeps you energized in the game of life. Denying intuition once heard, usually leads to striking out and being benched! 

Intuition is the energetic essence of who you are, providing you with information, direction and guidance for thriving each day.

    The Frequency of Joy

    Joy is experienced as the uplifting moments in life. They are peak moments, and when many of these moments are experienced and strung together, you begin to live a life based in contentment and inner peace. The ‘real you’ desires to experience joy each day; it does not want to live tied to stress and frustration. Your genuine self knows that joy is an offshoot of feeling love, and that each and every person has been designed to live life from the heart, connected with others and having fun. To begin to feel more joy, start by giving yourself permission to feel it!



    Begin by noticing when you feel joyful. Notice what pleases you and makes you smile. Notice how this brings everything in your life together peacefully for a divine moment. As you learn to open to these joys again, you become more energized, creative, intuitive, and energized. 

    You start to lead your life appreciating those around you and the uniqueness of whomever you meet. Your ability to give and receive love expands. You automatically begin to look for the positive qualities in yourself and others, and are even better able to deal with stress or emotions which you may not deem as ‘positive.’ 



    Joy is a powerful, renewable resource that fuels you to be able to live life 
    at both its heights and its challenges.



    Two ways to rapidly expand the frequency of joy in your life are:

    Seizing Joy Moments: Set aside your ‘to do’ lists during the day and take that break that you deserve. Suspend self-judgement that you are ‘wasting time,’ and know that you are ‘building time’ by feeding your soul. Joy is about spontaneity. You need to build the habit of spontaneity, in the moment if you are to notice and experience joy.

    Give Spontaneous Thanks: Whenever something goes your way during the day, say “Thank-you.” Say it to yourself, and aloud if you dare! When you begin to do this, you immediately see your life in a different way. Stress robs you of the ability to appreciate the wonderful, small things in daily life, and giving spontaneous thanks brings it back.

    Thoughts are Your Power Tools - Part 2

    To continue from my previous blog, one of the themes in my work with assisting others with the process of expansion, is the development of self-awareness, and in particular, how one thinks.

    In my book Core of Self, I've identified seven of the most common thought patterns that block Lightworkers. By having this list, it will make it easier for you to 'notice what you notice' about how you think.  Each of these seven patterns can lock you into 'magical thinking' which interferes with living an enlightened life. These seven thought patterns that people often have are:

    1) Name Calling
    2) Body-Conflict Thinking
    3) Nighttime Racing
    4) Perfection Thinking
    5) Black and White Thinking
    6) Out-of-Proportion Thinking
    7) Inadequacy Thinking

    My book Core of Self provides you with tools to identify these patterns and proven remedies to undo them - and enable a more powerful you.

    Of all the categories, I often find the 'Black & White' thinking pattern to be the one that impacts Lightworkers So, as a person opens to higher consciousness with expansion, they become more aware of their own physical, emotional and spiritual 'blockages.' These often arise as an awareness in their body -  for which they want a definitive or logical answer.

    So if the awareness needs to have a definitive label, and if it is not one thing (black), then it must be another (white).

    Awareness and spirit driven knowing falls between those two extremes of black and white. And this space between is not gray - it is a rainbow of possibilities and potential.

    Thoughts are Your Power Tools - Part 1

    Core of Self Summer 


    The past two months have been a time of expansion for Lightworkers. Here in the northern hemisphere,  it is the opportune time for Lightworkers to integrate these new energies and to grow. Longer hours of light, fresh local foods, time outdoors and being in nature all contribute to your expansion. Summer is a 'masculine' energy that fuels physical, mental, emotional and spiritual action and change.

    From June to August, I am posting six blogs to assist with your expansion. (Subscribe to this blog so you won't miss any). The focus of these blogs is to help you develop a stronger 'core of self'.You need a strong inner foundation as the home for your soul self and abilities. The stronger your inner core of self, the greater your spiritual strength and impact for yourself and others. And, you experience less of a roller-coaster effect during times of great spiritual expansion.

    A stronger inner foundation begins with becoming an observer of your own thought processes, this enables building a 5th Dimensional higher vision. You begin to see the 'bigger picture' in regards to your actions and reactions. Everyone has an internal operating system which holds beliefs about how you think about yourself, others and the world around you. You may not be conscious of it, but it is running behind the scenes determining how you live and what you manifest. 

    If you don’t remember anything else from this blog, remember this:


    Your body believes whatever your brain tells it. 


    Your body cannot tell the difference! If you stew in anger about someone, physical tension activates, and chemicals released in your body in response to these thoughts - and this is the energy that you put out into the world. You see, we Lightworkers ARE powerful manifesters, and our thoughts lead the way.

    In order to build a strong core of self, it is time to own how your thought processes are working and how they impact on your life.

    Tools for Observing Your Thoughts

    Step #1: Commit to listening to your thoughts: This may sound simple, but by doing this you are making a commitment to opening up your entire life in a new, expansive way.

    Step #2: Set aside time to listen: Though you never feel that you have enough time, and dedicating time for yourself usually occurs after everyone else’s needs have been met. The bottom line is that if you are reading this, you know that what you have been doing so far in your life does not work for you. Take the risk! Change your belief about time. Say to yourself: “There is enough time” and “It is my time, so I am going to choose how to use it.” Through giving yourself the message that you are important enough for this, you are jump-starting your self-esteem and learning how to take charge of your life. Begin by doing this when life is not chaotic. (Stop laughing! There are times of calm, so use them to your advantage).

    Step #3: When listening to yourself, pay attention to what words you hear: Write them down. Notice how the same words and phrases repeat over and over. Do you only hear your own voice or the voice of someone you know? If it is someone else, who might it be? A voice from the past? Someone in your life now? Notice the tone of voice that you hear. Is it harsh or judgmental? Does it sound very curt or demanding? Does it have a tired or child-like tone? Does it sound like it lacks energy or wants to give up?

    Step #4: Do not judge: It is easy to become anxious as you begin to hear what goes on in your thoughts. Remember that self-defeating thinking is what you have learned to do, and you are in the process of change. When you judge or criticize what you hear, the process of change slows down.

    Step #5: Become an observer in the chaos: The first four steps have helped you learn to become an observer of your own thought processes in a time of calm. When you feel comfortable with that, you are ready to begin to commit to hearing your thoughts during busier times in your life. You may have found that your brain chatter races at a greater speed when the pace of life speeds up, or when you are in the middle of a crisis. Now, you are going to begin observing your thoughts in the busy times. Doing this will aid you to not be controlled by them as you have been in the past.

    Step #6: Find the patterns: A researcher records observations and then spends time ‘quantifying’ them. Now that you are an observer and researcher of your own thought processes, you need to review your notes and find the recurring thoughts and patterns. When you have a moment, jot down what you hear. Take these notes in a journal or log dedicated to your research and self-discovery.
